The best time to visit Kentucky’s Bourbon Trail is in the Fall and Spring. During these seasons, bourbon is in full production and the weather is pleasant with a slight chill to the air.

Driving between the distilleries is easy and the Fall foliage colors, beautiful countryside and rolling horse farms make the journey quite a treat.

When planning your itinerary, keep in mind there are many Bourbon Trail accommodations located close by to 165 in Bullitt County near Louisville. These Bullitt County hotels provide easy access to Louisville and the trailhead of the Bourbon Trail, Shepherdsville.

There are many weekends to choose from, as these stunning Fall foliage colors of red, orange, and yellow begin as early as September and sometimes extend into November. Each distillery has different operating hours so plan to stay for a couple of days and include a visit to Bernheim Arboretum and Lincoln’s birthplace, which are nearby to the Kentucky Bourbon Trail.
