Learn More Details About The Winery

From its inception in 2007, Brooks Hill Winery has been a Bullitt County staple.

For Mike and Karen Hatzell, opening Brooks Hill Winery was a dream come true. They had always enjoyed wine, and Mike already had a love for farming; now, they were making it themselves!

Mike developed a love for wine and an interest in winemaking during his army service in France. When Mike and Karen married in 1996, he told her of his dream to own a vineyard and winery.

Finally — after a long search for the right property — in August 2006, Mike and Karen bought the land that Brooks Hill Winery now occupies.
