Abraham Lincoln Birthplace National Historic Site

His early life on Kentucky’s frontier shaped his character and prepared him to lead the nation through Civil War. The country’s first memorial to Lincoln enshrines the symbolic birthplace cabin. Three miles from the National Historic Site in downtown Hodgenville visitors will find the Lincoln Museum of Kentucky. The museum’s main exhibits include a dozen dioramas of pivotal times in the life of the sixteenth president, an art gallery, civil war memorabilia, and a gift shop.
